Continental Motors manufactured its first aviation engine in 1905, more than 110 years ago. Since then Continental lead the way, bringing new technology, performance and reliability to aircraft owners, builders and operators.
Today, Continental Motors offers a wide range of avgas and compression ignition engines (Diesel). The product line comprises the legendary Gold Standard avgas engines that power airframes such as the Cirrus Aircraft SR20 and SR22, Mooney Ovation and Acclaim, Cessna TTX and the Beechcraft Baron and Bonanza and many others. Many kit and experimental aircraft manufacturers have also chosen Continental as their preferred power plant provider. The most recent addition to the family is the Titan Engine range. They offer a unique combination of weight reduction options, power output choices and unique design features contributing to reliability, safety and performance.
After being the first company to offer turbocharging, FADEC controlled engines to general aviation, designed the piston engines that flew around the world non-stop (Rutan Voyager, 1986), Continental continues to innovate by offering the largest range of compression ignition engines (Diesel) for certified applications. The Continental Diesel range covers the 135 hp to 245 hp range, with other engines being in development (300+ hp).
Continental Motors also manufacture all the parts necessary to maintain, repair and overhaul your engine whether it is a Continental Motors, Titan or Lycoming engine. Our range of FAA approved parts for Lycoming engines allows owners and operators to benefit from all the experience accumulated over the years, warranties backed by the leading OEM Manufacturer and prices that encourage pilots to fly more. The NIC3® cylinders, available for Continental Motors, Titan and Lycoming engines are another example of Continental Motors continued investment in advanced designs, technology, innovation. Especially coated with Nickel Silicon Carbide proprietary compound, they prevent corrosion, reduce wear and harden the cylinder barrels. They are the ideal solution for pilots and owners that do not fly as regularly as they wish or reside in hot and humid areas or in coastal regions. And, in addition to the standard warranty, they come with an additional 5-year warranty against barrel corrosion and abnormal wear.
Continental Motor Services, offer Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul services (MRO) to general aviation pilots, from the smallest LSA aircraft to the Citation Jets. EarthX Motorsports is proud to announce that Continental Motors has become an OEM user and dealer of the EarthX brand. EarthX currently has 4 battery models designed specifically for the aircraft market; the ETX680C, ETX680, ETX900 and the ETX1200. EarthX lithium batteries can significantly decrease the weight of your aircraft (11+ pounds instantly) and increase your cranking amps all with one product! All of these aircraft models have a fully integrated battery management system (BMS) that is also redundant and have an LED battery fault light indicator that can be used in your EFIS system or a simple LED light on your panel. The BMS provides over discharge protection, over charge protection, short circuit protection, and excessive cranking protection (temperature sensing) in addition to integrated cell balancing technology. As you have many options in which Continental Motor and features you choose, please don’t hesitate to contact EarthX for specific battery recommendations.
